Ordering: A Cake To Remember asks you to phone in your order in advance to avoid "rush" charges. Please see the chart below for time frames. These timelines do not apply to wedding cake orders. Order cut off is 12 p.m. Noon Central Standard Time. We will not honor any orders with less than 10 business hours notice. See below for business hours.

For all web based orders, please add an additional 7 business days to receive and process your order.  Once we receive your order, we will phone you to confirm the order information. Please do not hesitate to call if you believe your order may have been misdirected.

Payment is due in full at the time the order is placed either via phone or mail. You may drop off the payment  at A Cake To Remember or mail it in with your order form to :

Orders totaling $1000 or greater, $500 deposit is required with balance due 10 business days before delivery date. Late payments on orders totaling $1000 or greater will incur an additional $15.00 /day late fee.

PLEASE NOTE! We reserve the right to refuse any or all orders. On very rare occasion we must refuse to fill an order due to too many orders scheduled for the particular day you wish to have your order ready. If this is the case, we will contact you immediately upon receipt of your order. We will offer you an alternative day to have your order delivered. You may decide to proceed with the new day or choose to cancel the order, at which time we will promptly refund your money or return your check via Postal Mail.

Rush order charges: are cumulative to the regular pricing and do not include delivery:

NOTE: One item equals: 1 dozen cookies, 1 cake( not size or flavor specific), 1 cheesecake, 1 Chocolate Dementia, 1 Chocolate Espresso Fudge Cake, 1 loaf of fruit or vegetable bread, 1 dozen cinnamon rolls, 24 pieces of fudge, 1 dozen mini cheesecakes, or 1 dozen brownies.

Next Day Orders: (Rush) Phone in orders received on or before 12 pm Noon CST for delivery on the next business day will be subject to Next day Service Fee. No mail in orders for next day delivery will be accepted. Please note that orders placed after 12 pm Noon CST on Friday, over the weekend, or on holidays will not be processed until the next business day which may be up to 5 calendar days.

Standard Delivery Rates: Delivery is calculated one way from 10997 200th Street Westside, Iowa 51467. Please phone A Cake To Remember at (712) 663-4221 before adding delivery to your mail in order forms. 

Standard weekday delivery is available upon request.

Saturday Delivery: Includes wedding cake delivery and set-up pricing.

Saturday delivery is available between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

NO Sunday or Holiday Delivery is available.

How to Ensure a Successful Delivery: Please ensure the recipient will be available at the delivery address on the selected delivery day. Unlike flowers, baked goods can not be left at the door. Someone must be available to accept the order. In addition, we must be able to reach the recipient or alternate person prior to delivery. Cell phone numbers are very useful in coordinating delivery. If we are unable to reach anyone for delivery, the delivery may be delayed until contact is made.  If we attempt delivery and no one is available to accept the order, the order will be taken back to A Cake To Remember and the receiver may call to make arrangements to pick it up.

The delivery address and phone number are critical to the delivery. Please confirm the recipient's address and phone number including a cell phone number, area codes, and zip code prior to your order. Please provide as much information as possible on the delivery location including name of the building complex, suite number, floor number, building number, subdivision/ community name, apartment complex, dorm, hospital, resident living facility, funeral home, or school.

Special Requests: At your request only, the order may be left with a responsible person other than the recipient such as a neighbor, security office, secretary. Otherwise, the order will be held at a Cake To Remember until pick up.

We make every effort to honor requests for morning or afternoon delivery, or even a specific time, whenever possible. We are happy do everything we can to ensure an enjoyable delivery experience, even with extreme requests. However, our pricing will reflect the delivery situations, exceptional delivery situations can be costly and will be quoted on a case by case basis.

Shipping: Shipping is offered, for edible images and decorator sets only, to the lower 48 states at this time.

Food Allergies: Many people have serious food allergies to common ingredients such as flour, dairy products, strawberries, nuts, etc.  If there is any possibility of a food allergy for yourself or your recipient.  Our facility uses dairy products, nuts, strawberries, flour, eggs, and sugar in many of our recipes. Please contact A Cake To Remember at (712) 663-4221 to discuss your concerns.

Standard Cake and Cookie Decorations: Your message will be inscribed in frosting on your cake as written in the Messages field of your order form, within space limitations. If you abbreviate words in your message when placing your order, we may abbreviate on the cake as well. Enter you message using correct grammar, capitalization, and punctuation. Be sure to include the recipient's name in the message field. Messages that are not family friendly may be modified.

Standard cake decorations include: icing flowers, icing balloons, confetti, icing streamers, or other festive designs along the border. You may enter two colors of your choice from pastel, primary, jewel tones, seasonal or holiday colors.  If you do not specify we will choose appropriate colors to suit the occasion, season or holiday.  Example: you ask us to decorate for a baby shower, but do not specify colors, we will decorate in pink and blue.

Standard Round Sugar Cookie decorations include: icing, sprinkles, sanding sugars. You may enter two colors of your choice from pastel , primary, jewel tones, seasonal or holiday colors.

Standard cut out shaped sugar cookie decorations include: icing base with appropriate designs. Example: Christmas Trees will have green base icing with golden icing swags, light shaped sprinkles and an icing star on top.

Copyrighted Materials/ Custom Edible Picture Orders: We are unable to reproduce copyrighted materials, photos, designs, logos, characters, slogans, etc. on any baked goods without the express written permission of the copyright owner. However, we are able to create a generic theme to match your party decorations. We also offer licensed images for purchase. We will be happy to place the purchased licensed image on a cake for your at no additional cost by your request only.

Pictures, logos, or any digital image can be reproduced on a cake or cookie. Our edible frosting sheets are 100% edible and the images are reproduced using edible inks (food color) and sugar frosting sheets. Pricing for your custom picture in the edible picture gallery is for the image only. We do charge additional fees for customized designs.  Example: You would like a graduation cake with a 5 X 7 picture of the graduate as well as "Congratulations" on the image. The image fee would be as follows: $5.00 for image + set-up fee ($10.00) + design time ($20.00/ hour)= $35.00 for the 5 X 7 Edible picture of your graduate on a cake.

Design fee is $20.00 per hour

Acceptable format for edible designs/pictures/logos is .jpg. Resolution should be no less than 150dpi. The image should be compatible with the printable dimensions of the Edible Picture sheet.  An image too small with loose clarity when it is enlarged.  Images should be compressed and emailed to greatcak@greatcakestoremember.com .

Once we receive your image/ picture/ logo ideas and/ or instructions on what you would like the final image to look like, including any copyright permissions, we will begin to design a custom image for you. We will email a sample image back for your final approval. Once your approval has been given, the image will be printed and applied to your order.

We request that any custom image order be placed at least three weeks in advance of the intended delivery date. Less notification will result in rush charges that will be based on the number of images needed and the complexity of the design. Typically, double the standard custom image design process. Example: Image price + $20.00 set-up fee+ $40.00/ hour design fee.

Wedding, Floral, Rental, and Baked Goods Disclaimers: Once your order has been shipped and signed for, delivered or picked up; we are not responsible for any accidents due to negligence that includes but is not limited to: improper storage, ie. refrigeration required, keeping away from heat, etc. Improper transporting, ie. item(s) not placed on stable level surface and are someway damaged, vehicular accidents, etc.

Choosing not to have A Cake To Remember cut and serve your desserts at your special event? We do leave detailed instructions and templates on how to properly cut and serve your desserts at the time we set up your display in order to  get the number of servings you paid for.  However, it is not our responsibility to enforce the use of this guide and we are not responsible for improper serving of your dessert resulting in inadequate numbers of servings,  pieces that are not aesthetically pleasing to look at, or any other error due to your own servers.

A Cake To Remember does use the utmost care in setting up your event displays and reserves the right to modify any display if we believe it to be too unstable. Furthermore, we do not guarantee any display will not collapse if bumped, moved or disturbed.

Please use common sense when handling any floral  or food product.

Contracts: A Cake To Remember requires contracts be signed for all events requiring baked goods set -up, floral orders, and/ or rental orders. Baked goods contracts require a $50.00 non-refundable deposit be made to reserve your event date. Baked goods balances must be paid in full no later than 8 weeks prior to the event date. All floral purchases require a contract be signed at the time the order is placed and the entire balance be paid in full at that time. All rental orders require a $50.00 non-refundable deposit be made to reserve you event date. Rental balances are to be paid in full 2 weeks before rentals are to be picked up. When the rentals are picked up an additional deposit will be required for the retail value of the rentals you are taking. This deposit will then be refunded to you after the rentals have been returned and reviewed per the conditions in the contract. 

Please thoroughly read the contracts and ask any questions before you sign.

Cancellations: In the event you need to cancel a store purchase order, please use the following guidelines.  Cancellation requests for a store purchase must be made by phone only, no other form of cancellation will be accepted. Edible pictures are non-cancellable and non-refundable after the order has been confirmed.

Any notice falling between the required time limit and 2 business days will result in 25% refund of total paid. From 2 business days and less, NO REFUND, as preparation of your order has begun having been mixed, proofed or baked. No in store credit will be issued.

For cancellation of special event, floral, and rental orders, please refer to your contract for specific details.

A Cake To Remember reserves the right to cancel any online purchase transaction due to, but not limited to; customer history, product is no longer available or discontinued items. In the event that A Cake To Remember cancels your online purchase, the entire amount will be credited back to your account and you will receive notification via email and Paypal.

Return /Refund Policy: A Cake To Remember takes great pride in providing quality baked goods. Due to the perishable nature of our products, we are not able to accept returns for fresh floral or food items purchased from our store. We offer generous refunds based on final approval of the store owner providing the following steps have been completed by you:

1. Fill out Feedback Form in its entirety. Please include the reason your are requesting a refund, so we may address the problem promptly. No phone requests will be accepted.

     3.  Items that have been shipped will receive monetary refunds. All other orders will receive refunds in the form of in store credit, based on final approval of the store owner.

    4.  Allow up to 14 business days for a reply sent via Postal mail. We take customers satisfaction very seriously at A Cake To Remember and will do our best to resolve your request in a timely manner, however during certain times of year ie. holidays , graduation times, etc. we are more busy. Your patience will be greatly appreciated.
